This captivating concert transports you to the Capilla Real Española of the 1590s, a period of profound spiritual devotion and unparalleled musical artistry under King Philip II.


Experience the intricate beauty of sacred polyphony as we explore works by the era's leading composers. Central to the programme are movements from Philippe Rogier's majestic three-choir Missa 'Domine Dominus Noster', alongside his poignant motets like 'Laboravi in gemitu meo', the expressive depth of Nicolas Gombert's 'Lugebat David', his vibrant 'Magnificat Tertii toni', the elegant lines of Thomas Crecquillon's 'Andreas Christus famulus', and the serene beauty of Tomás Luis de Victoria's eight-voice 'Regina Caeli'.
